Famed Media Company Selects Internap to Expand Audience and Drive Ad Revenue on the Web

ATLANTA, GA – (August 19, 2008) – Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business solutions, announced today that National Lampoon, Inc., one of the most widely recognized brands in comedy, is running its popular National Lampoon Humor Network and ad services on Internap’s Managed Server solution.

The National Lampoon Humor Network is an aggregation of the ‘best of the best’ in humor and college lifestyle sites on the Web, reaching the 18-34-year-old demographic with millions of monthly unique visitors. Also included in the Humor Network are key National Lampoon Internet properties, including NationalLampoon.com, the online successor to the legendary magazine; NationalLampoonSplog.com, National Lampoon's take on the world of sports; and DrunkUniversity.com, a college focused content site and associated online network.

Over the years, National Lampoon has grown from a magazine publisher to a digital media company, online content producer and vertical ad network. Internap’s managed servers and content delivery platform are enabling National Lampoon to deliver its large video entertainment library through nationallampoon.com and Network affiliates, as well as increase revenue opportunities by launching a myriad of vertical ad networks for targeted demographics.

“We are aggressively expanding our online presence and properties as the top humor destinations on the Web and Internap is helping us evolve with their combined expertise in Content Delivery Networks (CDN), IP, colocation, managed services and professional services,” said Zach Posner, vice president of corporate development for National Lampoon. “Thanks to Internap’s Managed Servers and exceptional engineering support, we are able to work with a trusted provider for online solutions that enables us to focus on our audience and build our business.”

Internap Managed Server is a unique, turn-key solution for media-heavy internet applications. Featuring Dell® PowerEdge™ servers and Microsoft® Windows Server® or Red Hat® Linux® operating systems, Managed Server is fully integrated with Internap’s CDN and Performance IP™ network infrastructure. The servers are housed and monitored in one of Internap’s 44 data center facilities providing enterprise quality reliability for Web applications. The CDN is used to provide the best viewing experience for video and live Web events. Performance IP provides a route-optimized network that continuously monitors Internet performance around the world and automatically selects the best path for data to travel. The entire solution is configured to fit current business needs and scales easily as demand increases.

“National Lampoon is a comedy luminary with an amazing audience,” said Tim Sullivan, chief technology officer at Internap. “Internap’s Managed Server is designed to deliver computer processing, storage, network, monitoring and security so National Lampoon can confidently store, manage, deliver and monetize its entertainment assets and better serve its audience.”
